Privacy Policy
Last updated October 10, 2026
We care about the people who use Tarot Reading and about their privacy. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your questions or readings to train artificial intelligence models. Below we explain, as plainly as we can, what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains the information collection, use, and sharing practices of Tarot Reading (“we,” “us,” and “our”). It applies to our services (“Services”), which include the Tarot Reading browser extension, the tarotreading.now website and the pages of readings shared through it, and any accounts, subscriptions, purchases, support and communications we provide in connection with them.
Before you use or submit any information through or in connection with the Services, please review this Policy carefully. By using any part of the Services, you understand that your information will be collected, used, and disclosed as described here. If you do not agree to this Policy, please do not use our Services.
Our Commitments
These are our core commitments:
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not use your questions or readings to train our own or anyone else’s artificial intelligence models, and we do not permit our service providers to use them for that purpose.
- We collect only what the Services need to give you a reading, keep the Services safe, and make them better.
What This Means Today
This Policy sets out the framework for the Services as a whole, including features we are planning. As of the date at the top of this page:
- there are no accounts and no sign-in; the extension identifies itself to our servers with a random installation identifier that is not linked to your name, email address or any other account;
- there are no payments;
- the extension communicates only with our own servers, to deal the cards, write the reading, keep your reading history, create links to readings you choose to share, and record how the extension is used;
- the extension does not read the content of the web pages you visit and has no access to your tabs or browsing history.
When any of this changes, for example when we introduce accounts, paid features, or features that work with the content of the page you have open (such as a reading based on its text), we will update this page and the date above, as described in “Changes to this Privacy Policy.” Such features will request the necessary browser permissions and will work with page content only when you use them.
Information We Collect
We collect information when you provide it to us directly, when it is collected automatically as you use the Services, and, in limited cases, from third parties.
Information you provide directly to us
We collect the information you give us. This includes the questions you ask and your choices in the Services, such as the type of spread. If you contact us, respond to a survey, or in the future create an account, subscribe to a communication or make a purchase, we collect the information you provide in doing so, which may include your name, email address, payment-related information and your general location.
If you create an account in the future, including through a third-party sign-in provider such as Google, we will collect the email address and account identifier associated with it, so that your readings, settings and purchases can follow you across devices.
Information that is collected automatically
Device and usage information. We may automatically collect information about the computer or device you use to access the Services, such as IP address, approximate location by country and city derived from it, browser type and language, operating system, extension version, and unique installation or device identifiers. We may also collect information about how you use the Services, such as the features and screens you use, the spreads you choose, the date, time, frequency and duration of your use, the pages of our website you visit and how you arrived at them, performance data, and error logs.
Where this information relates to the extension, it describes how you use our interface, such as panels, buttons and settings.
Cookies and similar technologies. Our website may use server logs, cookies, local storage and similar technologies to remember your preferences, understand how the website is used, and keep the Services secure. You can set your browser to notify you about cookies or to block them; please consult your browser’s help for how to do so. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the website work.
Information from third parties
To the extent permitted by law, we may receive information from third parties, such as app stores, analytics services, payment processors and fraud-prevention services. Depending on the source, this may include information about how you arrived at the Services, aggregated statistics, transaction status, and information that helps us verify trustworthiness and prevent abuse.
Your Questions and Readings
To give you a reading, the extension sends your question, the spread you chose, the cards dealt and your installation identifier to our servers. Our servers check the question for safety and abuse, determine its language, prepare the reading and return it to you. A copy of each reading is kept so that it can appear in your reading history and for the other purposes described in this Policy.
Please do not include names, contact details, account numbers or other information that identifies you or anyone else in your questions. A reading does not need them. You decide what to write in your question, and you are responsible for its content, including any information about other people. If you include such information anyway or describe personal matters, such as your health, relationships or finances, you do so voluntarily, and you expressly consent to the processing of that information as described in this Policy, including by our service providers. We are not obligated to review the content of questions and do not guarantee that such information will be detected or removed.
Your reading history. Readings are shown in your history for a limited period (currently 7 days). We may keep them longer, for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including security, abuse prevention, support and improving the Services. When you delete a reading from your history, it is hidden from you and any link to it stops working; deleting a reading from your history does not mean it is immediately deleted from our systems and backups.
Improving the Services. We may store, analyze and review questions and readings to improve the quality of readings, our safety checks and the Services in general. Where practicable, we use them in a form that does not directly identify you. For example, we separate them from your IP address and remove names, contact details and similar information by automated means. Automated removal may be incomplete. People who work on the Services read questions and readings only in such a form, or where necessary for security, investigating abuse or complying with the law. We may keep such material for as long as it is useful for these purposes. We do not sell it and, as stated above, we do not use it to train artificial intelligence models.
Shared Readings
You can create a link to any reading in your history. Anyone who has the link can open the reading, including your question, the cards and the full text of the reading, without signing in. Links are not listed publicly and we may ask search engines not to index them, but we cannot control where a link travels once you share it, who opens it, or what they do with what they see. Please share links only with people you trust, and think about what your question reveals before you do.
A shared link stays active for as long as the reading is visible in your history, unless you turn sharing off or delete the reading sooner, which stops the link from working. Turning off a link does not remove copies or screenshots that others may already have made. You are responsible for the readings you choose to share, and we are not responsible for how the people you share them with use them, or for access to the reading by anyone who obtains the link.
What the Extension Stores on Your Device
The extension uses your browser’s local storage to keep:
- your settings, such as the interface language, the type of spread, sound settings and which tips you have already seen;
- the reading you are currently viewing, so it is still there when you reopen the panel;
- a copy of your recent reading history, so it opens quickly;
- the random installation identifier described above.
Removing the extension erases all of it from your device.
The extension asks only for the permissions it needs, currently: side panel, to show its interface; storage, to keep the items above; and access to our own server, to deal cards and write readings. If a new feature needs additional permissions, your browser will ask you for them separately.
How We Use Your Information
We may use the information we collect from and about you to:
- provide the Services, including dealing cards, writing readings, keeping your reading history and creating the links you share;
- maintain, secure and improve the Services, including the quality of readings and our safety checks, and develop new features;
- detect, investigate and prevent abuse, fraud, spam, attempts to misuse our safety checks, and violations of our terms, including by limiting or temporarily blocking access;
- create and manage accounts and provide the features associated with them, when we offer accounts;
- process payments, subscriptions and purchases, when we offer them;
- communicate with you, including responding to your requests and, where you have agreed or the law allows, sending you information about the Services;
- tell people about the Services and understand how they learn about them;
- conduct analytics, research and reporting about how the Services are used;
- comply with the law and protect the rights, property and safety of Tarot Reading, our users and the public.
We may aggregate or de-identify information collected through the Services and use such aggregated or de-identified information for any lawful purpose consistent with this Policy.
Artificial Intelligence
Readings are generated using artificial intelligence technologies, which may be provided in whole or in part by third parties. We share with such providers only what is needed to generate a reading, such as your question, the cards and their positions. We do not permit providers to use this data to train their models, and we do not use your questions or readings to train any model ourselves.
Readings are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete or unexpected. See “Entertainment, Not Advice” below.
Analytics
We use, and may in the future add, analytics on our website and inside the extension to understand how the Services are used and to improve them, for example which features are used, how readings are completed, and where errors occur. Analytics may be provided by third-party providers, who may collect the device and usage information described above, including your IP address, on our behalf.
Accounts and Payments
We may offer accounts, subscriptions and paid features in the future. Payments will be handled by third-party payment processors. We will not store your full card number; the payment processor will collect and process your payment details under its own privacy policy, and we will receive only the information needed to confirm and manage your purchase, such as the transaction status, the product purchased and limited billing details.
When We Disclose Your Information
We may disclose information in the following circumstances:
- Service providers. To companies that perform services on our behalf, such as hosting, data storage, artificial intelligence services, analytics, payment processing, customer support, security and fraud prevention, and legal services. They may use the information only to provide those services to us.
- Legal compliance and protection. If required by law, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with legal process; to enforce our terms and this Policy, including investigating potential violations; to respond to your requests; or to protect the rights, property or safety of Tarot Reading, our users or the public.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, sale of assets or similar transaction, including the related due diligence, your information may be disclosed and transferred to a buyer or other successor, subject to this Policy.
- With your consent or at your direction, for example when you share a link to a reading.
- Aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
We do not sell your personal information.
Legal Basis for Processing Personal Data
Where the law requires a legal basis for processing personal data, we rely on:
- Performance of a contract, to provide the Services you ask for, such as a reading, your history or a shared link;
- Legitimate interests, such as keeping the Services secure, preventing abuse, understanding, improving and developing the Services and the quality of readings, where these interests are not overridden by your rights;
- Legal obligations, where we must process or disclose information to comply with the law;
- Consent, including your express consent to the processing of information you choose to include in your questions.
Data Retention
We keep information for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, or as long as the law requires or permits. In particular:
- readings are shown in your history for a limited period (currently 7 days); after that, and after you delete them from your history, we may continue to keep them for as long as necessary for the purposes of this Policy, including improving the Services;
- records used to prevent abuse and enforce limits are kept for as long as they are needed for that purpose;
- information that does not directly identify you, as well as aggregated information, may be kept indefinitely, as described in “Your Questions and Readings”;
- information may persist for an additional period in backups and logs kept for security and business continuity.
We may change the periods described in this section.
Your Choices and Rights
- Your history and links. You can delete any reading from your history and turn off any shared link at any time in the extension.
- Your device. You can remove the extension at any time, which erases everything it stores on your device.
- Communications. If we send you marketing emails in the future, you can unsubscribe using the link in each email or by contacting us.
- Data protection rights. Depending on where you live, and to the extent provided by applicable law, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, to object to or restrict its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below. Because we do not ask for your name or email address to use the Services, we may ask you for information that allows us to locate your data and confirm the request is yours. If we cannot reliably link a request to specific data, we may be unable to fulfill it. We may decline a request that is manifestly unfounded or excessive, or where otherwise permitted by law. If applicable law gives you the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, we ask that you contact us first; we can resolve most concerns directly.
International Transfers
We and our service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live, whose data protection laws may differ from those of your country. Where required, we rely on transfer mechanisms provided for by applicable law.
Security
We use technical and organizational measures to protect information against loss, misuse and unauthorized access, including encrypted connections between the extension and our servers. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The Services are intended for users aged 18 and over and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or from children under 16 where the law sets that age. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us.
Entertainment, Not Advice
Tarot Reading is offered for entertainment and personal reflection. Readings do not predict the future and are not medical, psychological, legal, financial or any other professional advice. Do not rely on a reading to make decisions about your health, safety, relationships or money; consult a qualified professional instead. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, please contact your local emergency services or a crisis line right away.
Third-Party Links and Services
The Services may contain links to third-party websites and services, such as the Chrome Web Store. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, which are governed by their own policies.
Chrome Web Store User Data Policy
The use of information received through the Tarot Reading extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use such information only to provide and improve the extension’s single purpose of giving tarot readings; we do not sell it, we do not use or transfer it for personalized advertising, and we do not use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We will review this Policy as the Services develop and may change it. We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. If we make material changes, we will provide notice where required by law, for example in the extension or on our website. By continuing to use the Services after changes are posted, you agree to the updated Policy. If this Policy is translated into another language, the English version controls in the event of any conflict.
